A construction compliance engine

A 110 MB drawing pack in, findings out, each with the quote and the page. Recall on printed values rose from 51% to 87%.

Construction compliance architecture, a drawing pack is cropped, seven extraction engines are compared on the same crops, and findings come out with the quote and the page

A Design Manager gets a pack of drawings and specifications and needs to know where the quotes and the drawings disagree. The engine reads the pack and shows each problem with the quote and the page it came from.

What it does

  • 13 documents, 163 drawing sheets, parsed in about five and a half seconds.
  • Seven extraction engines compared on 934 crops: recall on printed values up from 51% to 87%, cost down from $12.83 to $1.37 a pack.
  • Access tested with 377 attempts across nine accounts: zero reads across organisations.

The lesson

Three functions, each correct, each tested, all wired wrong. One silently re-read the whole pack on every run for three weeks. Now the checks run on the wiring, not just the parts.

In production, still being extended.
